Winds of Change
By Leilani Grossbauer

aaaaust how ready are you to take on new opportunities and challenges in your life? Find out here.

aaaaDo you embrace change? Enjoy stretching out of your mundane days into a rebirth of self-definition! Take this little quiz to find out where your heart truly lies among the winds of...change.

1. Enthusiastic to add the latest Sting release to your music library you:
aaa) Download your favorite selections from iTunes and add it to your iPod.
aab) Pay a visit to the local Barnes & Noble Booksellers and purchase the CD.
aac) Wait for the song to start on the radio, then quickly press play/record on your cassette recorder in order to add it to your tape collection.

2. You finally go on that long-anticipated exotic vacation. Do you:
aaa) Dive into locals-only-haunts armed with a good sense of humor and a pocket English/(insert name of foreign language here) dictionary?
aab) Keep your watch on "home" time despite the five-hour difference?
aac) Order Chinese take-out versus pizza after work, go home and watch the Travel Channel?

3. Preparing for the birth of your first-born child, your nesting instinct takes over and you find yourself cleaning out your closets. (You need space for those adorable baby outfits.) Do you:
aaa) Randomly grab piles of clothes, dump them in a box, and cart them off to the local Goodwill?
aab) Align each piece by season, color, and size, giving one per category to your sister? (You can always ask to "borrow" them from her in the future.)
aac) Who said you have to clean out your closets in order to create more space? Isn't this a justifiable reason to upgrade your square footage? Quick! Get an appraisal! Call the packers! It's time to move!

aaaaIf you answered two or more A's, pat yourself on the back! You're emerging from a tightly wound cocoon into a beautiful butterfly. Mostly B's? Okay, so you're a Monarch butterfly: Following the same path from time to time but enjoying the view nonetheless. I won't ask you to raise your hand if C was your majority. I bet it's likely that your friends have already sent secret footage of you into TLC's "What Not To Wear".

aaaaWhat's the big deal about changing anyway? What about the old adage: "If it's not broken..." Change enables us to grow into our better selves. It's what drove society from the Stone, Dark, and Grunge-Band Ages into the present. I tend to think that I'm open to change. I've read Who Moved My Cheese at my employer's suggestion (and then opted to change employers), moved from the West Coast to the East, switched political parties, and have changed my ideas about religion. Why, I've even gone from brunette to blonde and back! But don't ask me to change all the clothes in my closet. I vow to keep those size-four jeans and that little black dress that I wore on my honeymoon. Who knows? Someday they may fit again...and come back into style.
